How to encourage self care in your man

It seems more and more men are realizing that taking care of themselves is not only better for how they feel about themselves, but also for their health, both physical and mental.

With all that's going on in the world, self-care has never been more important. Finding ways that help us individually, as well as help us to reduce stress and manage anxiety are all going to help you on your journey to health and wellness.

Here are some things to think about, and things that you can do to help the man in your life embrace self-care.

Improve sleep

Getting some good quality sleep is something that is a no-brainer when it comes down to getting healthy and feeling well. But how many of us get some poor quality sleep, because we don’t take the time to wind down well? Encourage the man in your life to switch off screens a couple of hours before going to bed, as well as making sure that their bedding doesn’t make them feel too warm, as well as keeps them nice and comfortable.

Get some hair and skincare essentials

If the man in your life doesn’t currently have much of a skincare routine, then it's time to make a change. Adding something as simple as moisturizer to their skin and face can not only help them to look better, but it can make their skin feel great. That is why the simplest thing to do is to get an oil-free moisturizer, and apply it morning and night after washing their face.

If you're looking for other essentials for them, then natural hair care products to wash their hair with can be a good idea, as well as getting a water based pomade for their hair styling. You never know, your man might even embrace a bath-bomb or two!

Move more

We all know that exercise is good for us, and it can help us to look after our bodies, but also help us to feel happier and lift our mood. This doesn’t mean that you have to do exercise that you don’t enjoy, or spend hours and hours exercising either. If you have a pretty sedentary job, then getting up for a little walk, or even some yoga stretches can be a good thing for your body, but also giving your body a mental break. So go on a lunchtime walk together or an evening stroll, and you’ll both feel the difference.
