We spend 5 minutes with kikki.K founder, Kristina Karlsson talking about how she's planning on making 2020 the best yet, how she uses her own products & the exciting launch of the Back to School range.
SDT. You founded kikki.K in 2001, have you always had a love for stationery?
KK. I have always absolutely loved stationery, so much so that I call myself a stationery freak.
I always looked forward to the start of a new school year surrounded by new notebooks, pencils and folders - and the promise of organisation and joy they bring every day – and I still get just as excited today when a new delivery of kikki.K products arrives at the office!
SDT. kikki.K is a worldwide phenomenon and has such a loyal customer base, how do you stand out in what some would say is a saturated market?
KK. All of our kikki.K products are built on the Swedish design principles of form and function, combined with seasonal fashion trends. They are always beautiful in design, colour and texture – however they’re also functional. Not only do they look good, but they inspire and empower you to live your best life, every day.
The truly inspiring content found within our products is something that is unique to kikki.K and we love hearing stories of how our products have had a positive impact on the lives of our guests.
SDT. How do you personally use the range to stay organised in your busy life?
KK. There’s nothing like putting pen to paper, it eases the mind and I use kikki.K products every single day to help keep me organised. I always have to have a notebook and my favourite Metal Rollerball Pen on me to jot down important information, ideas and inspiration when I’m on-the-go. I also use a Personal Planner to manage my personal and professional appointments, birthdays and reminders so that I can keep track of everything.
SDT. Which products would you suggest for women wanting to set goals and start 2020 off in an amazing way?
KK. We have so many amazing products for this that it’s hard to suggest only a few, but I would definitely recommend our Goals Journal to plan out your goals and help you stay on track throughout the year.

SDT. Kikki.K is really for the whole family, having just launched your biggest back to school range yet. Can you tell us more?!
KK. Yes, I am so excited about our New Back To School collection, it encourages our guests to embrace their individuality and express their own style. There are three different design stories in the collection, all featuring a uniquely Scandinavian use of colour, texture and graphics. I absolutely love the bold designs of this range that are all hand illustrated at the kikki.K head office.
Although it is called our Back To School collection it can also definitely be used by those heading back to work as well. Some of my favourite products from the collection include the Spiral Notebook Packs - perfect for each subject or project.
Our Spiral Study Planners are always a bestseller and help you feel organised and in control of your workload. The Lunch Box Notes and our Stackable Lunchbox are just gorgeous and help make lunchtime a little bit more special for young ones.
SDT. What are some of your goals for the New Year?
KK. My personal dream is to be the fittest I have ever been this year and my business dream is to continue working on my big crazy dream to inspire 101 million people to write down 3 dreams and then go and chase them.
