Is fatigue draining your drive?

You’re a career woman. Perhaps you’ve risen fast through the ranks of the organization you work for, wowing important people wherever you go with your professional attitude, your impeccable work ethic and your bevy of bold and brilliant business ideas. Maybe you’ve even set up a business of your very own. A passion-propelled rocket that will smash the glass ceiling and propel you to success.

If entrepreneurship were easy, everyone would be doing it. Entrepreneurs work extremely long hours and even once we shut down the laptop for the day, our mind continues to tick over what needs to be done tomorrow.

Running your own business can be exhausting.

If you feel like fatigue is getting the better of you, but you can’t afford to slow down for a minute, it’s time to get your mojo back…

Start your day with a daily dose of inspiration

The first step to reclaiming your mojo also happens to be the hardest. Get up early! Get out in the fresh air and enjoy a leisurely morning walk. Listen to a podcast from someone you admire. Watch a TED Talk on Youtube. It doesn’t even have to be related to your business or your industry. It’s just the spark of inspiration that will get your creative engine running again!

Another great way to start is to set out your intentions and goals for that working day. What do you want to achieve? Ticking off tasks on your to-do list can help you feel accomplished!

Exercise your way to a sharp mind

Regular exercise is the quickest way to a sharp mind. It’s scientifically proven that exercising regularly can boost your concentration, memory and cognitive faculties. What’s more it’s a great way to relieve stress and pump your brain full of the feel good chemicals like endorphins and dopamine that will give you the get-up-and-go you’ve been lacking. The great news is that even if you don’t enjoy the gym, there are plenty of other ways to achieve this. Try taking up a dance class, take your bike out for a spin or give yoga a try. There’s literally no such thing as bad exercise as far as your brain is concerned.

Success is in your lunch box

When we’re in a race against the clock, day in and day out we can all feel tempted to gorge on fatty, salty and sugary snacks, processed convenience foods or fast food. However, these will only exacerbate fatigue, causing your energy levels to spike and then plummet. The secret to success may just lie in your lunch box. Pack your lunches with brain healthy foods like leafy greens, nuts and seeds or oily fish like salmon to ensure a healthy mind and body for peak productivity.
