Fixing health issues that impact an active lifestyle

Are you struggling to stay active due to health issues? Here are some of the problems that can keep you out of the gym or on your feet and the potential solutions you need.

Indigestion

You might find that you have issues with indigestion. Believe it or not, indigestion can be quite painful, resulting in a sharp feeling in your side or around your stomach. It is possible for it to stop you from walking around or even standing up, at least for a brief period. By the time the pain passes, you probably won’t feel like working out at all. If you constantly find yourself dealing with an issue like this, then you may need to think about exploring indigestion and heartburn relief. There are many examples of this available on the market for you to consider. Some are incredibly useful and will provide long term benefits, ensuring that indigestion doesn’t knock your exercise routine off track.

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain is a particularly difficult issue. Depending on where it is, it can cause difficulty walking or even moving your arms. You could be suffering from anything from RSI to problems with your feet. Chronic pain can usually not be cured but it can be effectively managed using pain relief and various forms of alternative treatments. For instance, many people who suffer from chronic pain will find relief by taking a hot bath or a long soak in warm water. Alternatively, you may want to try swimming to stay active as this helps soothe the muscles while still providing a solid workout.

Vertigo

You might also be suffering from vertigo. Vertigo is best described as feeling dizzy and it can seem as though the room is moving. This may occur when you stand up and could be a sign of high blood pressure. If you think your blood pressure is the cause, then it’s worth exploring this with a doctor. They’ll provide the treatment you need.

Headaches

It’s fair to say that you’re not going to want to hit the gym in the morning if you’re dealing with a nasty headache. Headaches can certainly impact how active you’re going to be through the day. It can make it impossible to concentrate too which can even start to impact your professional life. The good news is that depending on the issue, headaches can be dealt with in a variety of ways. For instance, it’s possible that you are suffering from a problem with headaches when you wake up in the morning. These can be quite painful and could be caused by a condition known as sleep apnea. With this condition, you stop breathing for a few minutes or seconds while you are asleep, reducing oxygen to the brain. It can be fixed with either surgery or in some cases a mouth guard.

Alternatively, if you're suffering from migraines, then it’s possible that you need to think about getting medication. There’s often a little trial and error here as your doctor will need to find out which type of meds will work for your particular case.
