5 ways to enhance your features without surgery

Looking to enhance your features without surgery? Read on!

1. Non-surgical Rhinoplasty (aka Nose Thread Lift)

A nose thread lift is a new, non-surgical treatment that improves the profile of the nose without having to go under the knife.

Compared to the more common non-surgical rhinoplasty using dermal fillers, the risks of having a nose thread lift is significantly lower and has fewer complications.

I now choose to perform all non-surgical rhinoplasty using only threads at my Adelaide clinic, Advanced Cosmetic Medicine.

Absorbable polydioxanone (PDO) threads are carefully placed in the nose to create lifting and to improve definition in the nose bridge and tip. PDO threads last longer than dermal fillers but are also not permanent, therefore they are an excellent option for those who want a noticeable change to their nose profile that isn’t completely permanent and is a more affordable option.

Nose thread lifts can achieve the following:

• A straighter nose bridge

• A sharper nose tip

• A sharper and more defined nose bridge

• A higher nose bridge

• Elevating a droopy nasal tip

Treatment can be completed in just 30 minutes with some bruising to be expected the next day, otherwise it is considered to be a treatment with minimal downtime. I recommend my patients have nose threads re-done anywhere from one to two years to maintain their results, but each person

2. Face Thread Lift

A face thread lift may be a great cosmetic enhancement option for those in their late 30s to early 60s who are starting to see some areas of drooping in their face or neck, but don’t want to commit to face lift surgery. Thread lift therapy lifts and tightens drooping skin tissue by inducing collagen production.

Like a nose thread lift, a face thread lift also involves the use of PDO threads, which are threaded into the drooping facial area with a special needle. The threads hold your skin in place until natural skin regeneration occurs, generally within 4-6 months. Once the threads have been encompassed by new collagen, they dissolve, allowing your own skin to maintain the lift and leaving you with a natural-looking result.

3. Liquid Facelift

Liquid facelifts (aka, a non-surgical facelift) have become extremely popular for individuals who have lost volume in the face due to ageing and loss of collagen, as they have the ability to produce excellent results whilst still being a non-surgical treatment. A liquid facelift involves dermal fillers injected into areas of the patient’s face to restore facial fullness, leaving the skin looking soft, plump and youthful.

Through plumping the skin using dermal fillers, a liquid facelift reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and may also be used to plump your lips.

A liquid facelift can also achieve the following:

• Tightening of the skin and smoothening of wrinkles

• Improve sagging around eyes, lips and forehead

• Volume restored to cheeks and brow area

Many people opt for a liquid facelift over a traditional, surgical facelift as it is lower in cost, produces more natural-looking results and is a quicker procedure with minimal downtime.

4. Venus Viva MD – Skin resurfacing treatment

Venus Viva MD is a new and advanced skin resurfacing treatment that reduces and improves the appearance of various skin concerns. Unlike its laser alternatives, Venus Viva MD not only uses a more advanced technology but is safe and effective for all skin types and skin tones and can be used on the face or body.

With each treatment able to be customised to your skin’s individual needs, Venus Viva MD is designed to treat any of the following skin concerns:

• Acne scarring

• Stretch marks

• Rosacea

• Enlarged pores

• Wrinkles

• Uneven skin texture

• Pigmentation

Using a hand held device and a gentle, stamping technique, the Venus Viva MD treatment also has two different types of treatment focusses – skin resurfacing and wrinkle reduction.

Skin resurfacing works with tiny pins that safely deliver heat through the skin’s surface. This process creates tiny micro-dermal wounds which the body heals naturally, repairing signs of visible skin damage.

Wrinkle reduction uses an applicator that produces heat under the skin’s surface. This helps to naturally increase collagen and elastin fibres, producing smoother, firmer and more youthful skin.

Venus Viva MD is safe and effective for all skin types and skin tones and both treatments have essentially no downtime – you can return to your daily skin care routine within just 24 hours.

5. Regenera Activa – Hair loss treatment

Regenera Activa is the latest non-surgical, regenerative hair loss treatment designed to slow the natural rate of hair loss and activate natural hair growth. The treatment is targeted towards both men and women suffering from mild to moderate male/female pattern hair loss, known as androgenic alopecia. This is a genetic condition that can affect both men and women as they age and causes hair follicles to progressively produce shorter, finer hairs over time, resulting in hair loss and usually occurring in a distinctive pattern.

Regenera Activa works by extracting hair follicles, or ‘micrografts’, from the scalp. These micrografts contain growth factors with potent regenerative abilities, which are then injected into areas suffering from hair loss.

The Regenera Active treatment has been found to:

• Regenerate hair follicles

• Reduce the rate of hair loss

• Improve hair density, hair count and scalp coverage

• Lead to the growth of new hair
